Dog Arthritis Home Remedies That Help Relieve Pain

As dogs get older, they tend to be vulnerable to injuries. Injuries can cause a lot of other connecting diseases like arthritis, which is also common in humans. In arthritis, the joints become inflamed and they cause discomfort.

Even if the disease is not a matter of life or death, it is important to keep the dog as comfortable as possible and to help him with the pain. One of the comfort methods is to massage the dog, as this can help lower the pain.

Benefits of the massage:

-It relaxes the dog
-It helps with the sore muscles
-Reduces the pain and inflammation
-Helps improve flexibility plus the blood circulation

You can also apply the massage on the affected area with gentle strokes. This method is very efficient and proven in many cases. One other method to alleviate pain is by putting hot compresses on the area. Just soak a towel and apply it there. You can do that twice or three times a day and it will work.

You can also use some bottles with hot water instead. But make sure the heat therapy works for your dog and he is not scared of the bottles or towel. In many cases this therapy has worked for aching muscles and joints.

The bed where the dog sleeps also has to be very comfortable. Make sure the bed spread and the blanket are nice. Let the dog stay more inside then outside where everything is warm and dry. If it rains outside it is best to keep the dog inside.

If the dog sleeps outside then make him a house with nice bedding, a house that is properly insulated so that the dog is not cold or wet. You may want to consider letting the poor dog sleep inside so he can really be comfortable.  These are some of the remedies that work in improving the life of your dog.

Sometimes the best home remedy is just plain love and caring and these can also go a long way toward helping your dog.
